- Jackshaft or wall-mounted motors are typically installed on high lift door applications. However, a jackshaft opener can be installed on any residential door. Keep in mind that if we are switching from a standard overhead opener to a jackshaft opener, the power source and low-voltage wire will need to be repositioned to the wall where the new opener will be mounted.
